Just a note on the blue 20s. Some were all over blue. Then there was all over blue with gray roofs. There were all over blue with black roofs. Blue with black roofs and black buffer beams and red buffers some had black buffers. Blue with black running plates, black buffer beams and black or red buffers. There are two or three good web sights with photos of all the class. So you will need a photo for this model.

Some things in life are never what you think and let me tell you after Saturday April the 25th i can this is so true. What a day I’ve done a lot of fantastic things in my life but on the 25th I went to the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland for the day. Words can not say enough. They have what we all dream of. First they have a good gang running it theres lots of young pepole about in fact ther more of them then us older grays and that can only be a good thing someone has to keep it all going when we all go. I will do a full blog on Thursday with some photos but all I can say now is get up to the Caernarfon or Porthmadog Wait till you see the Garratts slip. boy o boy.

Blue Circle. The proof !

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Here we are a Blue Circle trian at Exeter in 1961 and the wagons are Gray with Yellow boards showing the makers logo. There are 20 wagons in this train. So i say that the Airfix Yellow pressflow was only ever made by them. There were never 60 Yellow pressflow wagons.1961-47xx-exeter

Pete on tour with Lord Adonis

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

When I was invited to join rail the Rail Minister Lord Adonis on part of his tour this week, I wasn’t expecting to be  greeted  by a fleet of Pantecnicons  or limos,  but  equally I wasn’t  expecting Lord Adonis adorning a  rucksack , with one aide du camp (who was only doing the journey to Manchester). It was great fun to see this casual approach and I must say I did learn something. Lord Adonis was travelling on an 7 day saver, which took him anywhere in the UK over seven days at a cost £350 –  WOW – now there’s a real Rail Minister.
