I wish to apologise for the misleading blog which accused Model Rail of condoning piracy. Firstly, the facts as given to me by the complainer were wrong as the offending article was the next one on page 60 titled Mould Your Own. After a long conversation with the Ben Jones, Editor of Model Rail, I have accepted to do a guest editorial on the subject of piracy as the subject seems shrouded in confusion. I look forward to the opportunity to talk about such an important issue. I’m also pleased to confirm that Model Rail wish to join the campaign to stop this practice.
Here’s a book which if you haven’t yet seen is worth buying. A great collection from one of the great railway photographers.
Darren Sherwood Jones has just sent me the picture of his 20 which he’s just finished.
Thanks to everyone who came down to the Valley and bought the book. I had my first ride on a N2. Thanks to all the gang at the SVR.
We are now starting to pull together the info we need for the Warships Class 42 and 43. Can you help? Do you have drgs/ photos we could borrow. Did you work on them? Do you have a passion that could point us to the mods which were carried out? The more info we recieve the better the model we can produce. Thanks.
When the sunshines people smile there were lots of smiles about today.
Model Rail has disputed the claims in the blog dated 14th September and asked us for a retraction. We are therefore looking into the facts of this story and will be making a statement at the beginning of next week. We apologies if infact any of the claims are false.
My new book is now available from the following site:
Swindon at the week end saw Brian Daniels doing the 26 and Monday I was at RailCare Wolverton handing out awards to the Titchie Project boys well done lads.
To the editor of the Model Rail in this months issue you have an article on how to save money. Tip 56 tells your readers to pirate other peoples kits or ready to run wagons. I should point out that this is illegall as they will be someones copyright. This is so irresponsible of you I cant belive you could even think about it. It would appear that this article was offered to another well known mag which turned in down on legal grounds! Does this mean that you new owners dont care about the legel side of model railways in order to sell mags? I would love to hear your answer to the complaint so we can all judge for ourselves where you stand on ripping others talents.
