You say you want a revolution.

Monday, November 30th, 2009

So at last I can show the first of our revolutionary wagon kits. The van body is in one piece and the castings fit into pockets. Fully compensated with working horn guides. So all you have to do is glue and paint. Scale wagons in a couple of hours. Kits will include wheels. Photo 1 and 2 Dia1/213 photo 3 and 4 Dia1/208  There are seven types of BR vans and there will be 4 or 5 types of LMS van.

Railnuts.com Show.

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

We are planning the first ever Railnuts.com model show  in conjuction with the Swindon Steam Museum .  We want this to be a new sort of show  more  along the lines of a work shop,  than the traditional trader stands, although the traders attending will offer those parts that are always hard to find. There will be a few layouts, but we want to start small and build. Watch for more info.

Here’s something you dont see too often.

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

I thought you might like to see these photos as you dont get to see this very often – its the B1 inner copper  fire box.  As you can see all that remains of the original is the top.  This  is Richard welding in the last peice. Look at the gap at one end and then the other - when Richard starts to weld the copper moves and closes the gap. In all,  3 passes are needed to complete the joint.  There is a steel plate on the inside to hold the weld in place to stop it running out the joint. All clever stuff this.

Lord Adonis pays a flying visit to Crewe

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

On Friday the Transport Minister paid a flying visit to see the new training scheme for himself, and meet some of our apprentices. From our point of view its fantastic to see ministers at the works as it shows all the trainees and apprentices that the Government do see what they’re doing to break the mold of young people only wanting to do media.
