    Hi Pete,
Happy New Year to all on Railnuts. Its been most interesting. I’ve especially enjoyed Chris Nevard’s photos and George’s progress over in Sweden.
After three very wet years when my garden railway has seen very little action I’ve promised myself a layout in a spare bedroom here by this time next year. Whether I shall get there or not remains to be seen….!

Well said Mr. W, what a great bunch, fantastic wonderful people, it makes you belive we still have a civil society. It would be very hard for me to pick a favourite blog in 2009, but I agree on the two Curly mentioned. Please keep us informed George, hope you are keeping warm and safe in Sweden.

I have a feeling that the show is on the same day as my 5 inch
gauge steam engine gets a boiler test!.
If it turns out to be a different day I will try and make it.

    Yes I did I replied.

Better an me he said, they lifted that branch in der 1950’s.

Not on this layout in my back bedroom my friend I replied.

Ooy, whats this plate stuck to me boots he replied looking down at the foot plate of Kate?

I walked out and shut the door.

    Happy New year everyone, Brian

Happy New Year to all Railnuts. While not being into New Year resolutions (other than the one years ago when I resolved to stop making idiot resolutions), I have promised myself to finish the 08 – if only so I can start the Bolster C! I might even re-visit the Warship after that. And finally start making some [points][turnouts][switches] so I can claim to actually have a layout…….. but then again I do fancy having a go at one of the LNER 40T bogie brake vans……. ah well, it’s got to be a better year than last year ;-)

Happy New Year to all. This forum is definitely one of the nicest corners of our hobby.
Is the April show at Steam the one that was discussed a while back? I can’t seem to find the blog entry but recall that many of us offered to demonstrate etc. – will anyone be contacting us about taking this forward?
    All the best.
    John

To all the railway modellers on Railnuts,
Just heard on another group that Rev. Peter Denny has died aged 92.
A very influential character on the model railway hobby.
I had the pleasure of operating Grandborough Junction some years ago
    and it was excellent.

  17. Cooperman Says:

I am certainly going to try and be there on the 10th. April, and would love to meet other railnuts there on the day. The first Anniversary of this fantastic site is well worth celebrating, roll on 10th. April!!
